How to tell a real sigil from a drawing
Most sigils sold today are drawings. That is not a moral failing - it is a different object, and you should be able to tell which one you are wearing. Four checks, in the order that settles it fastest. They work on anyone's, including ours:
Ask for the derivation
A derived sigil has one: letter, value, cell. If none exists, the figure was designed and the method was decoration.
Recount a cell
Take any letter, apply the table and the modular rule, and check the line actually passes through that cell. One mismatch settles it.
Ask for it twice
A derived sigil is deterministic. Order the same name and planet again: an honest method returns an identical figure. A generative one drifts.
Look for the claim
Anything promising an outcome has left the method behind, because no arithmetic in this procedure can reach one.
Those four checks are the guide's real gift. Learn them and you never need us again - which is the point of a guide.
Everyone else asks you to take their word for it

What is deliberately not guaranteed: an outcome. No sigil, hour or placement is claimed to cause anything, and no refund is owed for a life that carried on as normal.
Three questions people actually ask
How is this different from the sigils everyone else sells?
Most modern sigils use the word method that descends from Austin Osman Spare in the early twentieth century - letters struck out and the remainder redrawn to taste. This uses the kamea route Agrippa printed in 1533: letters become numbers, numbers land on cells, the line is the path between them. It is the one method that can be shown working, and the guide teaches it rather than hiding it.
Will it work?
Nothing here claims so. The method is reproducible, which is a fact about the method and not evidence about the world. A figure derived correctly, and a figure derived correctly that also does something, are two different assertions - only the first is made anywhere in this document.
